Playful eclecticism was the impetus in this space’s fresh start. What was once an elephantine assemblage of weighty belongings and cleft elevations, became a vibrant, fluid, and light-filled space for our expectant Client’s sunroom. Intricate lattice French doors entice entry, sparing glimpses of eye catching color. To be enjoyed by adult and child alike, this space harkens that of an artist’s palette, mixing mellow base tones with lively accents. Oversized neutral slipcovered upholstery and light walls allow the splashy throw pillows and Seuss-esque accessories to set the tone for whimsical immersion. The dark Aegean lacquered fireplace ground the viewer’s eye and unites the thread of cooler tones woven throughout. Built out to frame the Client’s television without hailing attention thereto, the over-mantle millwork, flanked by faux tusks, accents the room’s lofty stature.  Adjacent to the peacock woven upholstered bench, your eye is met by two zany swivel chairs and a citron clawed side table sitting atop a custom patterned arabesque concrete tile; a derivative of the residence’s signature blue, black, and white color scheme. Fulfilling both form and function, a bank of back-painted Aegean millwork houses toy storage, display for cleverly curated finds, and a hidden changing pad drawer proving that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
